A Town of Dewey man has been convicted after sending sexual text messages and photos to someone he thought was a 14-year-old boy.
Ryan Cevan, 41, was found guilty by a jury on Friday.
According to court records, Cevan was convicted on one count of causing a child to view sexual activity and one count of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, both felonies. The two-day trial began Wednesday.
Cevan was arrested last June after replying to a Craigslist ad posted under the ruse of a 14 year-old looking for his first “guy experience.” Court documents say Cevan sent more than 90 texts and pictures in March, 2014. He also sent nude photos of himself to an undercover detective posing as a 16-year-old girl.
Cevan was later identified by the photos he sent.
Cevan returns to court for sentencing on Feb. 3. He faces up to six years in prison.
