Chief Master Sergeant Edward H. Bartig, United States Air
Force retired, 77, a Stevens Point native, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at St.
Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham, Wash.


A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec.
21, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stevens Point. Burial with full military
honors and a 21-gun salute will be held at Forest Cemetery.


Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday
until the service.


Memorial donations may be made to The Disabled American
Veterans Fund.


The Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point assisted with
arrangements
. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.


Mr. Bartig was born in Stevens Point, a son of the late
Harvey and Amy Bartig and was raised in Stevens Point. He graduated from P.J.
Jacobs High School in Stevens Point in 1957.


He enlisted in the United States Air Force shortly after
graduation and served 33 years. He achieved the highest rank enlisted personnel
can attain and earned many awards and medals during his service as he served
around the world.


After retirement, he read, worked in his garden, farmed, traveled
and attended races and military events.


Survivors include one sister, Jean Vican; three daughters,
Elissa (Stephanie) Bartig, Rachael (Jason) Ives and Sarah (Keith) Travis; and
six grandchildren.


He was also preceded in death by one brother, James Bartig.
