James Robert “Jim” Mehne Sr., 70, San Antonio, Texas, a Plainfield native and brother of three Almond area residents, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas.

A chapel service will held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21.

Mr. Mehne was born Oct. 1, 1945, in Plainfield, a son of the
late Kenneth and Jean (Czajkowski) Mehne.

He served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force.

He was married to Sonna Mercer 47 years ago.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Sonna; two sons, James Mehne Jr.
and Robert (Josie) Mehne; one brother, Steve (Barb) Mehne; his twin sisters,
Nancy Ottman (Bernie) Seaman and Carol (Arlyn) Smith, both of Almond; three grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Terry Spritka
Binkley.
