Arlene B. Mancl
Arlene B. Mancl, 95, St. Paul, Minn., a former longtime
resident of both Milladore and Stevens Point, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at
Saint Therese at St. Odilia in Shoreview, Minn.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21,
at the Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Monday
until the service.

Mrs. Mancl was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Spencer, a daughter of
the late William and Clara Gauger.
She graduated from Marathon County Normal School in 1940 and
soon began her teaching career in one-room elementary schools.
She later earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education
from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
She was married to Ernest J. Mancl Sept. 7, 1944, at St.
John Catholic Church in Marshfield. He died in 1989.
In addition to teaching and raising children, she and her
husband farmed in the town of Milladore in Wood County until 1977 when they
moved to Stevens Point.
She was involved as a 4-H leader.
In Stevens Point, she and her husband owned, operated and
managed student rental property; and they also helped their oldest daughter
with property management and maintenance.
She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Stevens
Point. She also volunteered at Portage County’s Lincoln Center, working in the
kitchen that prepared and served meals to local senior citizens.
Survivors include three daughters, Beverly Mancl, Stevens
Point, Joann (Dale) Statsman, White Bear Lake, Minn., and Lori (Brian)
Milbrandt, Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons, Bernard (Joan) Mancl, Hastings, Minn.,
and Dennis (Gail) Mancl, Bluff City, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Alvin Gauger.
