Noels Win First-Ever Philanthropy Award

John Noel and his wife Patty, have been awarded the inaugural Personal Philanthropic Leadership award.
The two were recognized at the Legacy in Travel Philanthropy and New Innovators awards in Canton, Mass. on Dec. 9.
John Noel is the founder of the Noel Group and Travel Guard International, now known as Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection. He is also founder of several philanthropic efforts including the Compass Scholars program, the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County and the Make a Mark Foundation.
The family also works with AIDS-stricken orphans in Africa.
John Noel announced is May he was stepping down as head of Berkshire Hathaway in May due to illness.
