Paul W. Bailey

Paul Wesley Bailey, 65, Sapphire, N.C., a former Almond area
resident, died unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, in Plainfield.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Leikness and Stahl
Funeral Home in Plainfield from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2.

Mr. Bailey was born Feb. 2, 1950, in Burlington, N.C., a son
of the late Walter and Lula (Kivett) Bailey. He graduated from Almond-Bancroft High
School.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial technology
from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He also had a degree in business
administration.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Mediterranean aboard the
USS Sylvania and was honorably discharged in 1978.
He was an interior/exterior painter.
Survivors include one sister, Amanda (Lyle) Gear; one niece,
Heidi (Rodney) Olsen; one nephew, John (Kristen) Binkley; and one grandnephew,
Derek Olsen.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Billie Sue and
Delores; and one brother-in-law, David Binkley.
