Pacelli Takes 66-51 Loss to Shiocton

By Jacob Mathias
After a lackluster first half, the Pacelli Cardinals varsity boys basketball team couldn’t make up enough ground to defeat the Shiocton Chiefs.
This is the second loss in a row for the Cardinals who came off a 49-43 loss to the Antigo Red Robins a few days earlier on December 15. The Cardinals’ overall record now stands at 2-5 and 1-2 in Central Wisconsin-Eight Conference play.
Leading the Cardinals was senior guard Jake Elliott who put 18 points through the hoop and took down 12 rebounds, earning him a double double for the game. Senior guard Trevor Glodowski added 10 points to the Cardinals’ total and senior forward Chris Shibilski took down 10 rebounds for the night.
Lead scorers for Shiocton were junior guard Nathan Schmidt with 25 points and senior guard Gage Kamp with 13 points.
Earlier in the evening, the Cardinals’ JV squad defeated the Red Robins 37-17 which brings them to an undefeated 6-0.
The Cardinals’ next two games take place during the Sentry Classic Tournament at UW-Stevens Point. They take on the Green Bay NEW Lutheran Blazers on December 27 at 6:00 PM and then the Newman Catholic Fighting Cardinals on December 29 at 5:15 PM.
