A former Plover man could face nearly 150 years imprisonment after being charged with multiple counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.

Daniel Mick, 30, is charged with two counts of first degree sexual assault of a child under 13, a felony with a maximum sentence of up to 60 years imprisonment.

He also faces charges two counts of causing a child under the age of 13 to view or listen to sexual activity for which he could see up to 12 years, six months imprisonment, or a $25,000 fine or both.

Mick made his initial appearance in Portage Co. Circuit Court on Dec. 21.

According to court documents, on November 24 a Plover police officer was asked to speak with Mick’s wife regarding concerns about incidents of sexual abuse between her husband and a 6-year-old female family member while they were living in the Village of Plover. The officer received the information from Dane Co. Health and Human Services.

Mick and his family lived in the village until August 2015, when they relocated to Kronenwetter. Mick’s and his wife have since separated, with the wife alleging Mick suffers from a “severe porn addiction”.

According to the girl’s interview with the officer and health and human services, on at least two occasions Mick allegedly forced a female family member to watch pornographic videos with him and asked her to touch his “private spot”.

During one incident in August, Mick allegedly penetrated the girl and forced her to perform oral sex.

Mick admitted to officers he had a problem with pornography, but denied forcing the young family member to watch. He also denied any sexual contact with the girl.

Mick is currently free on a $10,000 cash bond.

He returns to court on January 19 at 3:00 PM for a preliminary hearing.
