Letter: CWSO’s Conductor Contest Did Great Job Raising Money
To the Editor-
I am writing to publicly thank everyone who supported the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra “So you think you can Conduct” contest, and my opportunity to participate in the contest.
While Dr. Paul Munck won the event, (and rightly so, he’s a lot more entertaining then I am, by any measure) all four of us raised more then $3000 for this central Wisconsin treasure. Few communities still have symphony orchestras.
An orchestra is expensive to organize and operate. Most have folded up and gone bankrupt. So we are incredibly fortunate to not only have an orchestra but also to have such a terrific orchestra. The holiday concert this past weekend was simply wonderful (and Dr. Munck, simply hilarious!)
So to all who supported the CWSO by voting for any of the four of us; Dr. Paul Munck, Sara Brish, Brian Cummings, and I – a hearty thank you! I know I appreciated the opportunity to publically support the Arts in our community, and the contest was great fun, as well!
And for all those who did not contribute, its not too late! You can still make a tax deductible donation to the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra and support one of our local treasures!
