Raymond P. Hoppa

Raymond P. “Ray” Hoppa, 78, town of Dewey, died Thursday, Dec.
24, 2015, at his home after a battle with cancer.
There will be no services per his wishes.

Mr. Hoppa was a son of the late Leo Sr. and Lillian (Zick)
Hoppa.
He started working on his family’s farm. He then had various
jobs until starting work for his brother, Leo Jr., at North Central Aluminum
Foundry in Shantytown for 30-plus years.
After retiring from foundry work, he worked for Slivicke
Cement Contractors for several years.
He was married to Delores Garski May 7, 1966, 49 years ago
at St. Mary Catholic Church in Torun.
He spent time tending to his garden and in the woods cutting
firewood.
Survivors include his wife, Delores; one son, Alan; two
brothers, Gilbert and Leo Jr.; six sisters, Florence Pukrop, Sylvia Pukrop,
Jeanette Bembenek, Eileen DeMeyer, Virginia Lepak and Diane Ganski; three
godchildren; nieces; and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one infant daughter; and
two sisters, Carol and Linda.
