Snowfall Totals Nearly Five Inches

The season’s first snowstorm dumped almost five inches of snow of Central Wisconsin Monday.
According to ploverweather.com, 4.55 inches fell on Forest Drive in Plover. That snowfall is about half of the season’s total 8.5 inches accumulated inches so far, according to the website.
The storm quickly forced visibility and road conditions to deteriorate. Along with dozens of reported car accidents, a semi-truck reportedly slid into a ditch at the Hwy. 66 exit of I-39. The total number of response calls was not immediately known.
The season’s first storm warning for Central Wisconsin went into effect at 3 PM on Monday. Snow emergencies were declared throughout the area beginning at 6 PM Monday.
