“We didn’t take any money for the cones; it was all donations.”

The ice cream stand, which also serves popcorn and chili, opened this year. With a series of other firsts, Debolt said he opened the stand on Christmas Day, from 2 PM to 7 PM in an effort to help raise money for the Salvation Army.
It worked.
“We raised $1,200 for the Salvation Army,” Debolt said. “And that was all donations. We didn’t sell any cones.”
Debolt created a special, red and white peppermint swirl ice cream cone just for the occasion.
“That’s a cone we made just for the Salvation Army, and it’s only available for five hours out of the year.”
Debolt said he plans to conduct the fundraiser every year.
