Steve Leverenz, 58, Minneapolis, Minn., a former plant manager at the Donaldson Company in Stevens Point, died Dec. 31, 2015, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn., as the result of pulmonary fibrosis.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 9, at the McNamara Alumni Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
Visitation will be at the center from 10:30 a.m. Saturday until the service.

Mr. Leverenz was born June 15, 1957, in West Bend, a son of
John Leverenz and the late Janet (Dottai) Leverenz. He attended Decorah
Elementary, Badger Middle School and West Bend West High School, graduating in
1975. During high school, he lettered in four sports and became an Eagle Scout.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in December 1979. In college he was an
active member of the Mu chapter of Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) fraternity. He also
completed additional coursework at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
He was married to Joan Gavin June 5, 1982, and they
celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary in 2015.
He started his career at John Deere as a mechanical engineer
in Ottumwa, Iowa and Horicon, Wis. He worked briefly for Oshkosh Truck in South
Carolina as well as Excelsior Henderson Motorcycle Company in Belle Plaine, Minn.
He began a long career at Donaldson Company in 1993 where he
worked for more than 20 years at various locations, including as plant manager
in Stevens Point from 1995 to 1999, Cresco, Iowa, Leuven, Belgium, and finally
in Bloomington, Minn.
He was active in his church community, Jacob’s Well, and
cycling and racquetball groups.
In addition to pulmonary fibrosis, he also lived through
three occurrences of Hodgkin’s lymphoma for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; three children, Shane,
Erin and Megan, Minnesota; his father, John; three sisters, Barbara (Wayne)
Scott, Texas, Caryn (Dave) Miller, Missouri, and Lynn (Bill) Benn, Wisconsin;
and six nieces and nephews.
