Lorraine Falkavage, 77

Lorraine Falkavage, age 77 of Stevens Point, passed away January 1, 2016 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday January 6, 2016 at Holy Spirit Parrish (St. Stanislaus). Rev. Marcin Makowski will officiate. Burial will be at the St. Stephens Catholic Cemetery. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 4:00 – 8:00 Pm on Tuesday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens Point.

The Women of the Moose of which Lorraine is a member will have a ritual at 6:30 and the Holy Spirit Rosary Society will lead a Rosary at 7:00 PM, both Tuesday evening at Shuda’s. Visitation will also be from 10:00 – 10:45 AM on Wednesday at the church.

Lorraine was born November 26, 1938 in Polonia, the daughter of Chester and Lucille (Kirschling) Netzel. She graduated from Maria High School in 1957. She moved to Chicago and worked for a couple of years before returning to the area.

Lorraine married James L. Falkavage on June 17, 1961 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. The couple settled in Stevens Point and raised their children Lee and Julie. Lorraine Began working as a floral designer first at Leo Zinda Floral, then Ron LaComb Floral, and finally at The Four Season’s Square with Bob Mitchell.

She opened the Bridal Square in 1983 and operated the business until 1995. She then worked at Econo Foods and Copps before operating the deli department at People Meat Market from 2000 until her retirement this past November. She enjoyed cooking,spending time Up North, fishing, Packer games, and loved time with her grand-kids.

Lorraine is survived by her two children, Lee (Debra) Falkavage and Julie (JR) Losinskil four grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Brittney, and Theodore; two great-grandchildren, Hailie and Amare’; her brother Robert (Cora) Netzel; and her beloved cat Buddy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James in 2002.
