Frances S. Knuesem, age 97, of Mosinee, died Sunday January 3, 2016, at Atrium Post Acute Care Nursing Home in Stevens Point. Frances was born on September 16, 1918 in Milwaukee.

She was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Stanley. She attended schools in Milwaukee.

She married Carl L. Knuese in Milwaukee. After the marriage the couple settled in Milwaukee. Her husband Carl died in 1949, of a service connected death. Frances worked for the Veterans Administration at Wood in Milwaukee. She moved to Maryland where she also worked for the Veterans Administration in Washington D.C. After retirement she moved to Stevens Point to be closer to her family.

She enjoyed her dog, working on the computer and taking care of her house plants.

She is survived by her son; Carl Knuese of Mosinee. Grandchildren; Kevin, Barbara, Dan, Mike, Steve and Debbie. Also survived by several great-Grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her daughter Winifred, one brother and one sister.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday January 7, 2016, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will take place on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. Visitation on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Pisarski Funeral Home 703 Second Street Stevens Point and again on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service in the St. Faustina room at the church.
