Alan R. Brunker
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday,
Jan. 16, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Janesville, with Monsignor Don
Heier officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.
Visitation will be held at the church in Janesville from 9
a.m. Saturday until the Mass.
Visitation will be also be held at Herman-Taylor Funeral
Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, with a prayer
service at 6:30 p.m.

Mr. Brunker was born July 29, 1943, in Waupaca, a son of the
late Adrian and Catherine (McTigue) Brunker. He grew up on a dairy farm near
Almond. He attended rural elementary schools in the Almond School District and
graduated from Almond High School where he participated in sports.
He attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and
graduated from Wausau Technical College with an associate degree in
As an electrical technician, he was employed in New London,
Dubuque, Iowa, and Wisconsin Rapids, where he established and ran Color Check
T.V. Service for more than 30 years.
He was married to Kathleen Yeager Feb. 23, 1963, at SS.
Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
He was active in both the Wisconsin Rapids and Janesville
communities. He was involved and served in varying capacities with SS. Peter
and Paul Parish and School, Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids and with
St. John Vianney Parish in Janesville, where he volunteered for Second Harvest
He was an avid outdoorsman, and his hobbies included deer
hunting, fishing and golfing.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Kathy; three children,
Jean (Scott) Lownik-Knickelbine, James (Kelly) Brunker and Andrew (Erica)
Brunker; and seven grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Brunker;
and one brother, Gary.
