John F. Gritzmacher Sr.

John F. Gritzmacher Sr., 68, Hatley, a retired vice
president at Herrschners in Stevens Point, died at his home Sunday, Jan. 10,
2016.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 16, at
Peace United Church of Christ in Schofield, with the Rev. Tom Williams
officiating.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until
the service.

Mr. Gritzmacher was born March 5, 1947, in Wausau, a son of
Rose (Rauschl) Gritzmacher and the late Eugene Gritzmacher.
He was married to Shirley Aschenbrenner May 18, 1968.
He worked at Herrschners in Stevens Point, as the vice
president of procurement and logistics, traveling all over the world for work.
His favorite place to go was China, and he taught himself Mandarin Chinese. He retired
in November 2015, after 28 years.
His hobbies included gardening, especially a rose garden, hunting,
fishing, collecting coins and making wine and beers.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Gritzmacher, Hatley; his
mother; Rose Gritzmacher, Schofield; one son, John Gritzmacher Jr., Madison; one
daughter, Lisa (Tony) Gamboa, Wisconsin Rapids; eight siblings, Tom
Gritzmacher, Schofield, Mary Kay (Jeff) Schlatter, Wausau, Elizabeth (Steve)
Wadzinski, Mosinee, Ann (Dale) Mroczenski, Merrill, Christopher (Mary Jo)
Gritzmacher, Wausau, Carrie (Troy) Maly, Meadowland, Minn., Susan (John)
Gutsch, Wausau, and Linda (Bill) Buss, Eland; and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Lucy Reeder.
