SPASH Beats Comets in Tourney Finale

The SPASH Panthers boys hockey team improved its record to 7-4 with a 5-0 win over Waupaca in the final game of the 18th annual Community Parks Hockey Classic tournament Saturday night at the K.B. Willett Arena.
Five different Panthers recorded goals including Cole Caufield who put the Panthers on the board at the 13:09 mark of period one. He was assisted by Brock Caufield and Phil Trzebiatowski.
SPASH found the back of the net four more times in period two to round out the scoring for the night. Grant Czaikowski, Brock Caufield, Jesse Pliska, and Carter Smgaj all broke into the scoring column for the game.
The Panthers peppered the Comets net with forty one shots limiting Wauapca to 10 shots on goal. SPASH finished the two day tournament with a 1-1 record. Appleton United defeated Mosinee in the first game of the evening to finish 2-0 for the tournament and remain unbeaten on the season.
SPASH will play host to D.C. Everest at the K.B; Willett Arena on Tuesday, January 12. Game time is 7:45 PM. The Panther Junior Varsity will take the ice at 6:30 PM.
