UPDATE: Six More Accuse Doctor of Sex Assault

City Times Staff
A doctor charged with 10 counts of sexual assault allegedly positioned himself so patients were touching him in an inappropriate manner during examinations, according to police records.
Plover police say Dr. Wilton C. Calderon was formally charged in late Dec. after an eight-month investigation, which was sparked by an anonymous tip.
Calderon, who is currently living in Old Lyme, Conn., is charged with four counts of third-degree sexual assault and six counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.
Police say Calderon, 45, had unwanted sexual contact with “several” female patients, also allegedly exchanging opiate medication in exchange for sexual contact from one of the patients, while employed as a physician at Plover Family Practice, according to Plover Det. Brian Noel.
At least six more of Calderon’s former patients have come forward with accusations since last week, according to police.
Calderon has a four-star approval rating on the HealthGrades website, and his current office location is listed as the L+M Medical Office Building, in New London, Conn.
According to Plover police, Calderon allegedly positioned himself close to patients so they were touching him during exams, and it also charged with fondled patients in an inappropriate manner.
The investigation was held jointly with the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). Calderon is scheduled to appear in Portage Co. Court on Jan. 25 for his initial appearance.
