Adventure 212, Holiday Inn to Hold 4th Annual Health Fair

By Kate Knight
Adventure 212 Fitness and Holiday Inn Convention Center will hold the 4th annual “You. Only Better.” Health and Wellness Fair on Monday, Jan. 18 from 10 AM – 6 PM at Holiday Inn Convention Center in Stevens Point.
The event is free and open to the public.
“The event got started when leadership positions from both Adventure 212 and Holiday Inn sat together and talked about how they could play a role in educating our community about health and wellness,” said Michele Glaeser, general manager at Adventure 212 Fitness.
“Holiday Inn had the space and resources to help get the event going, and Adventure 212, being a fitness facility, had the professionals in place to connect with like-minded professionals in the community,” Glaeser explained. “A discussion over lunch turned into a very successful event that helps people in our community set goals and work toward healthier living in the new year.”
Glaeser said about 500 attendees are expected at this year’s event.

“It is an important event to attend because it brings like-minded individuals and businesses together,” Glaeser added. “We hope that people see this as an opportunity to educate themselves on how to live a balanced, well-rounded life.”
Highlights of the fair include bio-metric screenings throughout the event, healthy cooking demos by chefs from Holiday Inn and Adventure 212 Bistro, wellness seminars from noon to 4:30 PM every half hour and community wellness vendors.
“The goal of this event is to connect people to wellness professionals in the community and expose them to the various dimensions of wellness,” Glaeser said. “This is a unique opportunity for community members to experience services, knowledge and education that may not otherwise be readily available to them.”
“To become more educated on increasing your own health and wellness, you have to turn to the professionals in a specific area,” Glaeser added. “It is crucial to seek out resources in the community to help increase your awareness and knowledge. Attending a health fair like this is a great first step in the right direction.”
The Holiday Inn and Convention Center is located at 1001 Amber Ave.
