Donna Mae Rose Skowen
Donna Mae Rose Skowen, 93, Iola, mother of a Rosholt woman,
died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at Iola Living Assistance in Iola.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16,
at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola, with the Rev. Dennis Olson
officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until
the service.
Voie Funeral Home in Iola assisted with arrangements.

Mrs. Skowen was born Sept. 26, 1922, in the town of
Scandinavia in Waupaca County, a daughter of the late Anna (Bobbe) and Chester
Voie.
She was married to Elmore E. Skowen May 4, 1946, in
Scandinavia. He died March 29, 2009.
Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, baking Norwegian
pastries, traveling and polka.
She had been a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheri (Mike) Zdroik, Rosholt;
two sons, David (Jane) Skowen, Sun Prairie, and Wayne (Marie) Skowen, Iola; one
brother, Carvel (Betty) Voie, Scandinavia; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Keith; and one grandson,
Cody Zdroik.
