Shirley J. Skillman
Shirley J. Skillman, 63, Stevens Point, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at her home. She was under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice and fought a lengthy battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Stevens Point. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, and at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the services.
The family requests memorials be donated in her honor to the
Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

Mrs. Skillman was born March 29, 1952, in Sea Isle City, N.J.,
a daughter of the late Stanley and Elsie (Fauver) Schoonmaker.
She graduated from Albright College in 1974 and later earned
a master’s degree in computer science from Stevens Institute of Technology.
She was married to Thomas H. Skillman Oct. 25, 1975, in
The couple moved to Stevens Point in October 1993.
She worked at Sentry Insurance as a computer programmer.
She was an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist
Church, including the Mary-Martha Circle, Women on The Grow and Project Fresh
She was a member of a book club.
Survivors include her husband, Tom; four daughters, Kristen
Skillman, Boston, Mass., Jennifer (Dustin) LaRue, Madison, Alison (Adam)
Lubinski, Stevens Point, and Tracy (Joseph) Anderson, Verona; one brother, Bill
(Linda) Schoonmaker, Bedford, Ind.; one sister, Eileen Pearson, Fletcher, N.C.;
and three grandchildren.
