Letter: Help Restock McDill

To the Editor-
After reviewing the fish survey results from fall 2014, the Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources has agreed to allow McDill Lake District to stock black crappie in McDill Pond.
During the post draw-down restocking, black crappie was not restocked, and the species of fish is very sparse in McDill where it used to be common long ago. We would like to stock the fish this spring, but unfortunately have large expenses this spring to bring our harvesting program up to new DNR requirements.
We are asking those in the community who enjoy and fish McDill that if you would like to assist with restocking 100 percent of donations received will go towards the purchase of crappie. Each three-to-four inch crappie costs $1.25 and is being purchased from a local fish farm in the community.
Donations can be sent to McDill Lake District, 3317 Della St., Stevens Point Wis. 54481.
Thank you in advance for supporting a healthy fishery.
