The Wausau East Lumberjacks entered last night’s game with a 4-1 conference record and hopes to slow down the SPASH Panthers roll through the Wisconsin Valley Conference basketball season.

Trevor Anderson, Sam Hauser and company would have none of that, however, as they left the SPASH Fieldhouse with a 75-46 win to improve their Conference record to 6-0.

The Panthers led 32-23 at the half and came out after the break with a 15-9 run putting them up 47-32 at the mid-way point of the period going on to outscore the Lumberjacks 28-14 down the stretch for the win.

Trevor Anderson continued to blister the basket leading the Panthers with 35 points including six 3-pointers. Sam Hauser added 21 points.

Also getting on the board for the Panthers were Jamison Kryshak(6), Ted Kearney(5), Keon’te Williams(4), Drew Blair and Beau Rosenthal each with 2 points.

The SPASH Junior Varsity came away with a 66-56 victory led by Brennan Mueller with 18 points. Andrew Erdman added 14 and Spencer Tyson chipped in 11 for the evening. Logan Lewis hit for 9 points, Drew Cullen and Spencer Vondra each scored 6 and Luke Bahling finished the game with 2 points to round out the scoring.

SPASH hits the road for three games next week starting at Wausau West Tuesday, January 26 for a 7:30 tip off. The Panthers then travel to Marshfield on January 29th where the SPASH girls basketball team will play the first game of a double-header starting at 6:00. The boys will take the floor at 7:45. SPASH rounds out the week at Onalaska on January 30 with at 7:45 contest.

The Panthers are currently ranked #15 in the latest MaxPreps national rankings and sit undefeated atop the statewide poll .
