Sophie G. Leary, 104, Almond, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016,
at Whispering Pines Assisted Living Center in Plover.


A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at
St. Paul Catholic Church in Plainfield, with the Rev. Paul Lippert and Deacon
James Trzinski presiding. Burial will be in the Almond Village Cemetery.


Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until
the Mass.


Hardell-Holly Funeral Home in Almond assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.hollyfuneralhome.com.


Mrs. Leary was born June 30, 1911, in the town of Alban, a daughter
of the late Mathew and Mary (Gagas) Tryba.


She was married to Clarence L. Leary July 9, 1929, at St.
Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. He preceded her in death.


The couple farmed in the town of Belmont for 36 years.


In 1973, they retired to Almond.


She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Plainfield.


Survivors include four sons, Clifford (Rita) Leary, Stevens
Point, Donald (Audrey) Leary, Wisconsin Rapids, Bud (Patricia) Leary, Almond,
and Lewis Leary, Milwaukee; four daughters, Doris (Glenn) Brasch, Royalton,
Janice Schuelke, New London, Shirley (Martin) Mercen, Campbellsport, and Betty
(James Jr.) Burns, Almond; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Leary, Green Bay; and
many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by one son, Roger; many
sisters and brothers; one granddaughter; and one great-grandchild.
