Spash Grapplers Topple Evergreens

The SPASH Wrestling team sent its seniors out with a 46-15 win over D.C. Everest Jan. 28, finishing its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet season with a 4-2 record.
The Panthers recorded two pins on the evening with the first by Senior Fritz Schierl in the 160 pound weight class over Mitch Veverka in 2:31. Junior Brady Koontz also recorded a pin at 106 pounds in 0:43. Major Decisions went to Chance Bailey (9-1)and Nate Duffert (14-2).
Other Panthers winning matches were Dylan Koontz at #120 (20-5), Dylan Trigg at 138 (9-3), David Lummis at 145 (win by forfeit), Joey Roth at 170 (8-7), Nate Engle at 195 (win by forfeit) and Brandon Patoka at 285 (5-4).
This was the final home meet for seniors Nate Engle, Nate Duffert and Fritz Schierl.
The Panthers return to action travelling to Merrill High School on Saturday, February 6 for the Wisconsin Valley Conference meet. Action is set to begin at 10 AM.
