Feb. Classes for Working Adults Offered at Mid-State

For the City Times
Are you a working adult who wants a local and affordable way to enhance your skills to advance your career? Are you a current college student who wants to get a head start on their Mid-State education or transfer classes to another college or university? You don’t need to wait until fall to get started, as Mid-State Technical College has a large number of classes that start in February.
If you are interested in enhancing your computer skills, Mid-State offers a large number of computer classes, including Computer Basics, Introduction to Microsoft Office, Introduction to Windows, Microsoft Excel (Intermediate), and Microsoft Word (Beginning).
Enhance your business and management skills with classes like Business Law, Economics, Human Resource Management, and Intro to Business, or enrich your communication skills through Oral/Interpersonal Communication and Written Communication. Developmental Psychology, Intro to Psychology, and Intro to Sociology classes are also available in February.
If you are not sure what you want to do with your life, there is even a class for you. In Career Awareness, you will take part in self-discovery activities and surveys to uncover your skills, interests, and values, and then explore a wide variety of careers that would be a good match. While there is no charge for Career Awareness, you must be 18 or older to participate.
While Mid-State students are certainly welcome, you do not need to be a current student to register for these courses. In fact, these courses are perfect for the working adult, as many are offered in the evening or online. These classes are also beneficial to students attending other colleges and universities. In many cases, you can take these Mid-State classes and transfer the credits to other institutions. The helpful people at Mid-State can walk you through what classes you can transfer to other colleges and universities.
