Michael J. Young, 64, Mosinee, a former Stevens Point Area Public School District school psychologist, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at New Hope Community Church in Wausau, with Pastor Dan Jelsma officiating.
Helke Funeral Home in Wausau assisted with arrangements.

Mr. Young was born April 3, 1951, in Wausau, a son of the
late Stanley and Carolyn (Mayer) Young. He graduated from Wausau High School in
1969.
He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau
Claire (UWEC) where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and
then completed a master’s degree in school psychology at UW-Stout.
He was married to Sandie Barth 39 years ago.
He worked as a school psychologist in the D.C. Everest and
Stevens Point Area Public School districts until he retired in 2006.
He was a member of New Hope Community Church in Wausau where
he served as a church elder and worked with the youth group. He mentored teens
as they served others on mission trips.
Survivors include his wife, Sandie; two sons, Bryce (Ruth), San
Diego, Calif., and Brennan (Christa), Eau Claire; one sister, Linda, Mahtomedi,
Minn.; and one granddaughter.
