Judith M. Sommers, 76, of Stevens Point, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital.

She was born on March 11, 1939, in Stevens Point, to the late Henry and Alvina (Wolosek) Maslowski and was a 1957 graduate of Maria High School. On May 9, 1959, her marriage to Donald “Butch” Sommers took place at St. Peter Catholic Church. Donald died on May 3, 2009.

Judy worked at Paragon Farms in Bancroft from Feb. 1, 1973, until the present. Her interests included attending her grandchildrens’ events, the Green Bay Packers and Elvis Presley.

She is survived by one son, Keith (Becky) Sommers of the town of Saratoga in Wood County; three daughters, Karen (Fuzzy) Engebretson of Plover, Kim (Jim) Heuring of Plover, and Karla (Mike) Lodzinski of Stevens Point; one brother, Mark Maslowski of Whiting; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family thanks the staff of the ICU at St. Michael’s Hospital for their care of Judy.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. The Rev. Dennis Stanchik will officiate. Burial will take place in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King. Visitation will be in the St. Faustina Room of the church on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time for Mass.
