Child Neglect: Two parents, a 39-year-old woman and 41-year-old man, were arrested at 8:36 AM from a home on the 2100 block of Water St. after a neighbor reported neglect of two children, ages 14 and 17.
Feb. 1
OWI: Police arrested a 24-year-old man for operating under the influence and failure to keep vehicle under control at 2:31 AM on the 500 block of Second St. North.
Verbal Squabble: Police were called to a home on the 2800 block of Church St. at 11:AM when a caller reported two men, 24 and 47, arguing.
Fight: A 23-year-old man called police after two other men, 21 and 22, were fighting in a home on the 2100 block of Prairie St. at 12:17 PM.
Temper, Temper: A 26-year-old man was arrested from the 900 block of Main St. for three counts of bail-jumping after he allegedly smashed the cell phone of a 31-year-old woman 4:06 PM.
Show Some Respect: Police cited a 17-year-old girl after her 56-year-old mother reported the girl damaged a light fixture and destroyed a pair of eyeglasses at a home on the 1700 block of Fremont Street.
Trouble on Social Media: A 45-year-old man called deputies at 2:45 PM to see he was seeing “disturbing” social media posts from his home on the 1800 block of Bobby Lane.
Darn Kids: A 74-year-old man called dispatch the voice his concern about young people who “drive recklessly” at 4:16 PM.
Crash: Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at I-39 and Hwy. 54 at 10:56 PM. The drivers were male, ages 18 and 20. No injuries were reported.
Feb. 2
OWI: A 22-year-old man was arrested for first offense OWI at 2:45 AM from the corner of Reserve St. and Fourth Ave. He was also cited for an unsafe lane deviation.
Assisting a Motorist: A deputy stopped to assist a 53-year-old woman who ran out of gas at mile marker 150 on I-39 at 7:10 AM.
Runaway: Police were called by parents after a 14-year-old girl ran away from home at 8:18 AM. She girl was located and returned to her parents.
Mailbox Damage: A 74-year-old man called deputies to report damage to the mailbox of his Akron Ave. home in Almond at 8:28 AM. The man reported his mailbox would no longer shut.
Dude, Where’s My Car? A 26-year-old woman called deputies to report her vehicle had been stolen from a driveway on Grove Ave. in Wisconsin Rapids. Deputies had determined the car was actually repossessed.
Green Card MIA: A 48-year-old woman called police at 10:30 AM to report her Green Card and two diamond rings went missing from a residence on the 2700 block of Main Street.
Truck v Plow: The Portage Co. Highway Dept. reported unknown driver hit a snowplow at 12:20 PM. According to the deputy’s notes, there was “no damage to the plow, but the truck should have damage.”
Not So Neighborly: Deputies responded to a home on the 3800 block of Cardinal Dr. after a 57-year-old man reported a dispute between neighbors there at 3:03 PM. Deputies advised the neighbors to avoid contact for awhile.
Turn Your Lights On: Deputies issued a warning to Jared Redfield, 74, at 5:34 PM for operating without lights during hours of darkness near Highway 10 and Lake Dr. in Amherst.
Feb. 3
Suspicious Peeker: A caller from a bar on the 1000 block of Second St. called police to report a suspicious male repeatedly looking in the windows of the tavern at 12:45.
