Annual call underway soon for sugary entries

The Riverfront Arts Center is planning its ninth annual “Peeps as Art” exhibit, and entries are being sought for this year’s show. 

The center is looking for dioramas, pictures, sculptures or other artistic media using the sugar-covered marshmallow Peeps. Entrance fee is $5, and artists may submit no more than two entries.

Artists are encouraged to depict a phrase, book, song, television show or movie title with the treats. Peeps art that can be hung on a wall is also encouraged this year.

Submissions can be turned in at the Riverfront Arts Center March 16-22.

The Peeps exhibit opens Friday, March 25 and runs through Wednesday, April 15. A “Peeps Party” reception will be held on April 2 from 1 PM to 3 PM, when visitors can cast their vote for the best art.
