Jefferson Elementary School Principal Molly Demrow, Mrs. Dulak and her kindergarten class give a ‘thumbs up’ to Great Lakes employees for donating over 4,700 healthy snacks.
The school has been adopted by Great Lakes-Stevens Point and regularly donates schools supplies, box tops and money to help fund various items needed for students. The school is in one of the poorest areas of the district, yet students there consistently produce the highest test scores throughout the school district.
Employees at Great Lakes-Stevens Point purchased the snacks during a week-long “Great Lakes Gives” drive held in January.
This is the second year Great Lakes has held a winter drive to meet the basic needs of Jefferson students so they can finish the school year successfully.
