Letter: Knaapen Evenhanded With Defendants, Victims
To the Editor-
I am writing to you as a friend and supporter of David Knaapen for Portage County Circuit Court
In my 34 plus years in the State of Wisconsin as a collegiate (UW-Stevens Point) and high school
basketball coach, I valued the intangibles that helped make teams and individuals successful. Personal
traits like integrity, honesty, dedication and genuine passion for fairness, while adhering to the highest ethical standards were key. Those character attributes are at the foundation of David Knaapen’s philosophy and approach to our legal system.
David has more than 30 years of legal experience in both the public and private sectors. He has
worked as Portage County Assistant District Attorney since 2004. He has handled and continues to handle a wide ranging criminal case load including crimes against persons, criminal traffic, property and other “white collar” offenses, as well as homicides. David has shown himself to be evenhanded in his treatment of defendants, victims, and colleagues.
Attorney Knaapen is seeking the recently-vacated Branch II Circuit Court Judgeship. With his nearly
daily appearances in court, David is one of the most experienced litigators in Portage County. As a judge, David will be faithful to the law and make fair and impartial decisions in all cases.
I am asking you to join me in voting for David Knaapen for Portage County Circuit Court Judge in
the primary on February 16, 2016.
