Letter: Check References for Baker
To the Editor-
I write this letter from a position of deep personal understanding of candidate for judge, Trish Baker. She is my wife.
In my career as a professional engineer, I’ve participated on many interview panels. Having more than one good candidate can make choosing difficult. I’ve found that the best way to obtain firsthand knowledge of a person’s strengths, personality, and work background, is by checking references.
Trish has a very diverse background in the law, making her uniquely qualified to be a judge. Many attorneys focus in a particular specialized area of law. Trish has chosen a varied path during her 20 year legal career, giving her a broad spectrum of experience. Trish has made a lot of professional connections and decisions that have affected people’s lives in different ways. These people will tell you, Trish is a great listener that is always professional, respectful, and patient. I encourage you to check her professional references!
Trish has a vast array of past and continuing community involvement and leadership. Her involvement in School Board, Rotary Club, multiple non-profits, and the Village of Park Ridge, demonstrate her passion. She is an idea person. During 18 years as a Portage County resident, Trish has made many positive community impacts. I encourage you to check her community references!
In her personal life, Trish has raised two sons, and mentored to step-sons to have those same qualities of integrity, and service. Joey is a West Point Graduate, currently serving our U.S Army in Egypt. Nathan will soon graduate in engineering from UM and is joining the U.S. Navy. Craig is a U.S. Coast Guard Reservist, and Corey will soon graduate from UW La Crosse in Music Education.
All of Trish’s many friends retain a great love and respect for her. I encourage you to check her personal references!
An endorser has said, Trish has a “judicial temperament”. She lives it every day.
Before you vote, I encourage you to PLEASE Check all candidate’s references!
If you do, you’ll choose Trish Baker on February 16
