VIDEO: SPASH Football, Cross Country Honored for Academic All-Star

SPASH athletes were honored on Monday for achieving high grade point averages while simultaneously participating well in sports.
Football players Mack Journell, Evan Mallek and Koltyn Voth were presented to the school board by Coach Pete McAdams.
Coach Donn Behnke represented the school’s cross country team, though none of his academic all-stars — Derek Franz and Sam Smith — could attend.
“I’m the only one who didn’t have homework tonight,” Behnke said.
To qualify for academic all-star, players had to qualify for state-level competition and maintain a grade point average of 3.5.
