Audrey J. Olson, age 75, of Custer, died February 10, 2016 surrounded by her family.

Audrey was born January 1, 1941 to the late Albert, better known as “Toby” & Loretta (Buchholz) Renken in the Town of Pine River in Merrill, WI. She grew up there, attended the local school and graduated from Merrill Public School in 1958.

She married Wayne Olson on her father’s birthday September 19, 1959 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Merrill, WI. They were happily married for 56 years.

Audrey was employed at Citizens Bank in Merrill from 1959-1962 and moved to Stevens Point in 1967. She was a homemaker from 1962-1979 and later worked for 28 years at Sentry Insurance Company as a Records Clerk, retiring in 2008.

Everyone who knew Audrey was touched by her love of life, energy, sense of humor, and kindness. She loved gardening and processed the fruits of her labor. She had a great appreciation for nature and enjoyed camping and collecting butterflies and beehives on her many hikes. She also collected sand and shells from the many trips she and her husband made later in life.

Audrey was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stevens Point.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne of Custer; daughter, Vicky Olson of Chesterfield, VA; son, Tim (Michelle) Olson of New London; and two grandchildren, Alexis and Nicholas. She is also survived by many extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Loretta and brother, Mike.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 15, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stevens Point with Rev. Beth Macha presiding. Friends and family may also visit at church from 10:00am-11:00am before the service.
