Buza celebrates 90th birthday

Margaret Buza, town of Hull, recently celebrated her 90th birthday.
Margaret was born in 1926 in the town of Hull, a daughter of the late Frank and Constance (Pogorzelski) Rice. She was the youngest of 16 children. After her mother died during childbirth, she was adopted by Anna (Gollonik) and Victor Gollon.
When she was 12, her stepmother died, and her stepfather raised her on his own. She assisted on his farm doing chores, making meals and helping others. Later in life, Victor lived with Margaret and her husband, Chester, until his death. Margaret provided caregiver services during his illness prior to his death.
Margaret attended St. Casimir Catholic School.
She was married to Chester Buza Oct. 12, 1946, at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Chester died in August of 2000.
Margaret was a caregiver in her home for many years and also worked at the University-Saga Foods for 30 years. She was also the head cook at St. Casimir for church picnics and other functions.
She has two daughters, Rosemary Furo-DeMeyer and Janet (John Jr.) Laskowski, both of Stevens Point; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
