Police & Sheriff Calls, Feb. 9-11

Feb. 11
Speed-Racer: Police cited a 28-year-old man for his second offense of disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle near Frontenac Ave. and Stanley St. at 1:46 AM.
Feb. 10
OWI: Deputies arrested a 36-year-old man for his first OWI offense following a traffic stop near Highway 54 and I-39 in Plover at 6:35 PM.
Extra Patrol: A caller requested additional patrols in the Hay Meadow Drive/Dewey Drive area after reporting vehicles repeatedly stopping in the middle of the road.
Unruly Teenager: Police were called to SPASH, 1201 Northpoint Dr., after a caller there reported a disorderly 16-year-old girl.
OWI: Police arrested a 62-year-old man for OWI near the Casimir Rd. ramp at I-39 at 6:55 PM. The man’s car had reportedly slid off the road.
Fight: A 59-year-old man was cited with disorderly conduct after two witnesses reported he struck another man following an argument on the 1700 block of Main St. at 7:39 PM.
Feb. 9
Butt Dial: Portage Co. dispatchers reported an abandoned call to 911 at 8:08 AM. The call turned out to be a pocket dial mistakenly made by a 24-year-old man.
Extra Patrol: Additional patrols were requested by a caller from the 2500 block of School St. in Whiting. The neighborhood is home to McDill Elementary and has no adult crossing guards.
Loud Argument: Police responded to a home on the 1200 block of River View Ave. at 11:20 PM after a neighbor called to complain about a loud argument.
Underage OWI: Police arrested an 18-year-old man on charges of OWI, first offense, failure to keep vehicle under control and hit and run on the 300 block of West St. at 1:20 AM.
Worthless Check-Writer: A 41-year-old man called police from the 5300 block of Old Hwy. 18 at 2:03 PM to report his 47-year-old tenant had repeatedly paid his rent with worthless checks.
