Jefferson Students Celebrate 100 Days of School by Giving

Jefferson Elementary students celebrated the 100th day of school by giving back to the community.
Students in kindergarten, first and second grade spent the last few weeks collecting items to donate to the Humane Society of Portage County. The donation drive brought in well beyond their goal of 100 items, with more than 220 items including dog and cat food, toys, cleaning supplies and more.
Chris Langenfeld, executive director of Portage Co. Humane Society, thanked the students and also explained to the kids how their donated items would be used.
The Portage Co. Humane Society is located at 3200 Iber Lane in Plover.
