Letter: Shannon Shares Our Values
To the Editor-
Please join me in supporting Judge Robert Shannon in the upcoming election for Portage County Circuit Court Judge.
Bob was raised and educated right here in Portage County. After earning a law degree at Marquette, he returned to Stevens Point and joined the Anderson law firm. He spent 26 years there building a broad knowledge of the law in civil, real estate, insurance, business, product liability, landlord/tenant, probate and divorce matters, eventually becoming a partner in the firm’s litigation practice. His time on the bench further broadened his experience. He clearly has the legal knowledge and courtroom experience one would expect in a judge.
However, there is another side to Judge Shannon. I first got to know Bob when he was coaching youth baseball. He served on the Stevens Point Youth Baseball Association Board and took on the unenviable task of running SPYBA’s brat and cheese curd booth at Riverfront Rendezvous. Not only did he give up a few Fourth of July weekends, he convinced many others to join him in this worthy effort. Bob is also an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer.
In other words, Bob is one of us. He has the values and character we in Portage share and cherish. Please take the time to vote for him on February 16.
