J. Margaret Buza

J. (Josephine) Margaret Buza, 90, Stevens Point, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at the home of her daughter, Rosemary Furo DeMeyer while under the care of Heartland Hospice Services and her daughters and families.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in the town of Hull, with the Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvasam officiating.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the Mass. A general rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. by the St. Casimir’s Christian Woman’s Society, which she belonged to for 25 years and was past president.
A memorial will be established later in her name.

Mrs. Buza was born in 1926 in the town of Hull, a daughter
of the late Frank and Constance (Pogorzelski) Rice, the youngest of 16
children. When she was born, her mother died during childbirth.
She was then adopted by Anna (Gollonik) Gollon and Victor
Gollon, becoming their only child. Her stepmother died when she was 12 years
old and she was then raised by her stepfather. She assisted on the farm doing
chores, making meals and helping others. Her stepfather continued to live with
her and her family until his death.
She attended St. Casimir Catholic School.
She was married to Chester H. Buza Oct. 12, 1946, at St.
Casimir Catholic Church. He died Aug. 27, 2000.
She worked as a caregiver to people in their homes for
several years. For many years she was the head cook for church picnics and
other church functions. She worked at the University-Saga Foods for more than 30
years.
She was a member of the St. Casimir’s Christian Woman’s
Society for 25 years and was past president.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary Furo-DeMeyer,
Stevens Point, and Janet (John Jr.) Laskowski, Stevens Point; five grandchildren,
David (Tracie) Pagel, Michelle (Clint) Lindsey, William Pagel, Shawn (Kristen)
Pagel and Chad Laskowski; nine great-grandchildren; and seven
great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons-in-law; 15
brothers and sisters; her adopted parents; and one great-great-grandson.
