PoDS Has Room for More Students

Point of Discovery School is now taking applications for enrollment for the 2016-17 school year.
The public charter school opened its doors to 50 sixth and seventh graders last fall, and is currently accepting applications for new students to expand for the 2016-17 school year.
“We still have slots we can fill,” said Jen Zach. “March 17 is our deadline.”
The school currently has 48 students at the school, but next year will have space for 105 students. Families with students who will be in sixth, seventh and eighth grade next year are invited to apply.
The school teaches students through the EL (expeditionary learning) model, which engages students in long-term studies of compelling topics and themes. Students are engaged in creating original, authentic projects designed to improve their community.
PoDS will hold an information night for families on March 1 at 6 PM, and a “Slice Day” — a day-long event designed to showcase a typical school day for PoDS students.
Registration is required for the Slice Day. To register, or for information on how to apply, go to pointofdiscoveryschool.com.
PoDS is located at 1900 West Zinda Drive.
