Local teen seeks to bring music to other students

My name is Jacqueline Wisinski, my parents are Mark and Jane Wisinski and my grandparents are Norm and Marlene Dombrowski. Music has been a blessing in my life and has enriched me and my upbringing.
Currently, I am an eighth-grade student at P.J. Jacobs Junior High in Stevens Point. When I attended Madison Elementary school, every student had the opportunity to sign up for music lessons, but not all students could sign up because their families could not afford the instruments.
This affected me because it was never an option to not hear and play music and being exposed to it. I feel it is a civil activity everyone can enjoy and broadens our horizons and it doesn’t exclude anyone.
Seeing that some students wanted to sign up but their families had limited financial resources has led me to raise money for our music department to buy instruments for students that cannot afford it. These instruments will be given to needy students to borrow and learn the instrument. I feel this is investing in our youth and brings all generations together.
I would love to have an opportunity to meet with people interested in my project and get people involved with it.
I am accepting monetary donations and musical instruments in good working condition. Donations can be made out to the Stevens Point Area Elementary Music Department and mailed to me at 396 Old Wausau Road, Stevens Point, WI 54481.
I am working to get donations in by March 5. If anyone wants to talk to me about the project or would want to drop off an instrument, they can call me to make an appointment at 715-341-9825.
All donations will be given to the Music Department of the Elementary Schools within Stevens Point school district.
