Kathryn A. Schmoll, 79

Kathryn A. Schmoll, after 79 years of loving, laughing, learning, teaching, and family dedication, died on February 19, 2016.
Kay was born January 26, 1937 to the late Ben and Ima (Walz) Schultz in Antigo, WI. She grew up there, attended the local grade school, and graduated from Antigo High School in 1955. Kay’s passion for living and learning led her to the University of La Crosse, WI. Her focus was Elementary Education. Upon graduation, Kay fulfilled her desire to become a teacher.
Kay began her teaching career in Shawano, WI and later found additional educational opportunities in Birnamwood, WI. After her marriage to William Schmoll in October of 1961, she decided to dedicate her time to family. Kay and William relocated to the Stevens Point area in 1966 where she returned to substitute teaching in 1971 after her children had grown. After 30 years of dedication, Kay finally retired.
She will be remembered for her bright smile, appreciative approach to life, and for her humble nature. Kay had an amazing ability to see the beauty and good in everyone she met. Kay was also an avid sports fan and she enjoyed cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and Pacelli Cardinals. Faith was also important to Kay, as she was a committed member of St Stephen Catholic Parish. Her love of family encompassed her life. She adored spending time with her grandchildren, and attending their various sporting events and concerts.
Kay will be missed by her children, Mike (Sue) Schmoll, Pat (Laura) Schmoll, and Don (Kathy) Schmoll; grandchildren, Alec, Addie, and Elliot; nieces and nephews; extended family; and many close friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William; sisters, Mary and Jane; and her parents, Ben and Ima.
