William F. Diercks

William F. “Bill” Diercks, 86, a former Antigo resident,
died at Atrium Post Acute Care Center of Stevens Point Wednesday, Feb. 24,
2016.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8,
at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home in Antigo, with the Rev. Dr. Wes Jedras
officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery in
Antigo.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Friday,
April 8, until the service.

Mr. Diercks was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Antigo, a son of the
late Ben and Margaret (McMillan) Diercks. He graduated from Antigo High School
with the class of 1947.
He was married to Phyllis Jicha Jan. 3, 1951, at First
Congregational Church in Antigo. She preceded him in death.
He attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
He served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was a potato grower for 45 years and later worked as
manager of the raw material division of Basic American Foods in Plover.
He was a lifelong member of the Elks Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary (Mark) Menzel,
Hartland; two sons, Michael (Carol) Diercks, Coloma, and John (Sara) Diercks,
Scottsdale, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Marge Gamble;
and three brothers, Bob, Jack and Don Diercks.
