Irene L. Lorbiecki
Irene Lucille Lorbiecki, 84, Galloway, a Rosholt area native, died unexpectedly at her home Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016.
A Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday March 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway. Per her wishes, her body will be cremated, and the family will privately scatter her ashes in the spring.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the Mass.
The family requests that donations be made to St. Joseph
Church in her honor.
Mrs. Lorbiecki was born Aug. 21, 1931, at home near Rosholt,
a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Pliska. She was one of 11 children.
She was married to Ernest Lorbiecki in 1948. He died Feb.
They made their home in Galloway and operated several
businesses, including a bar, feed mill and potato farm.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonita “Bonnie” Lorbiecki
and JoAnn Babcock; one son, Mark Lorbiecki; one sister, Delores Kluck; two
brothers, Raymond Pliska, and Richard Pliska; five grandchildren; and two
She was also preceded in death by five brothers Stanley Jr.,
Rickard, Jerome, Donald and Gene Pliska; and three sisters, Ramona Lorbiecki, Dorothy
Kluck and Virginia Sommers.
