Josephine G. Nelson

Josephine Grace Nelson, 89, Waupaca, mother of an Amherst
woman, died Tuesday, March 2, 2016, at Crossroads Care Center in Waupaca.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, March 11, at
the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca, with Pastor Mark Sabin officiating.
Burial will be at Ogdensburg Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Friday
until the service.

Mrs. Nelson was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Cobbtown in Waupaca
County, a daughter of the late Joseph and Frieda (Voss) Cartwright.
She was married to Carl Nelson April 24, 1954. He died Dec.
6, 1980.
She was a longtime member of Farmington Lutheran Church.
She worked as a knitter for Zwicker’s Knitting Mills.
Survivors include three children, Jean (Jerry) Schwarten,
Burlington, Dennis (Donna) Nelson, Kensett, Ark., and Dianna Nelson, Amherst; one
sister, Irene Sauberlich; 10 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 26
great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, LaVern
Cartwright; two sisters, Bernice Sauberlich and Sylvia Durrant; one son-in-law,
Wayland Stine; and one granddaughter, Carla Metcalf.
