PCBC Becomes a Dementia Friendly Business

For the City Times
The Portage County Business Council staff is now dementia friendly — the first community organization to achieve the designation in Portage County.
The group follows Grazies Italian Grill, which was the first business in the county to earn the Purple Angel Initiative in early February. Completed training is represented by a purple angel symbol near the entrance of the building.
The Purple Angel Initiative, sponsored by the Portage County Dementia Support Network, helps employees and staff members learn the signs of dementia, and gives them a plan to address elderly customers who may be suffering from the disease.
To participate in the initiative and learn about the advantages of becoming a dementia-friendly business, contact the ADRC at 715-346-1401 or 1-866-920-2525.
The Purple Angel Initiative is sponsored locally by the Portage County Dementia Support Network (PCDSN) whose mission is to make Portage County a Dementia Friendly community.
