School Board Member Angel Faxon announced on Monday she has withdrawn from the school board race.
Faxon was one of six candidates for four spots on the board.
“Due to recent life changes, my family and I have decided that it is best for me to withdraw from the upcoming school board election,” Faxon said in an email statement. “I am very grateful for the four years I have been honored to serve our community on the Board of Education, and am very optimistic about the direction our district is headed.”
Faxon added she would finish her current term, which expires at the end of April.
Prior to this term, Faxon served as vice president and president of the board.
Faxon’s name will remain on the April 5 ballot, along with other board candidates Jeff Ebel, Amy Dailey, Dan Kontos, Barb Portzen and Rory Suomi.
