UPDATE: Concealed Carry Class at PCSO Now Full

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) Class, scheduled for Sat., April 23 is now full.
Anyone interested in the class will be placed on a waiting list.
The class is taught by sheriff’s deputies who are certified Department of Justice Firearm Instructors; the class is the actual Department of Justice CCW class developed for the CCW permit application.
This class will be held from 8:00 AM to noon in rooms 1 and 2 of the Portage County Annex, 1462 Strongs Avenue. Cost of the class is $40 per student.
A second glass will also be offered that day — a Basic Handgun Course will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Portage County Law Enforcement Range. Topics for this class include shooting stance, grip, sight picture, loading, unloading, malfunctions and firing.
Students will need to bring a handgun and approximately 50 rounds of ammunition for their handgun. The cost for this course is $40 per student.
Students taking both the CCW and Basic Handgun Course will be charged a total of $60 per student for both classes.
